Baal Aadhaar Card: The Blue Aadhaar card is also known as a Baal Aadhaar card.
Baal Aadhaar card is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India – UIDAI – to children in the age group of 0-5 years.
The Baal Aadhaar card is known as the blue Aadhaar card because its blue in colour for children below the age of five years and is free of cost.
Blue Aadhaar does not require the child’s biometric information (fingerprints and iris scans).
When the child turns 5, his/her biometrics (facial photograph, iris scan, and fingerprints) have to be mandatorily updated on the Aadhaar Card.

Baal Aadhaar Card: How to apply for Aadhaar card
Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI – uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Now, click on the Aadhar Card registration link.
Step 3: Enter all the credentials including the name of the child, parent’s phone number, e-mail address, etc.
Step 4: Fill all the demographic information such as a residential address, locality, district, state, etc.
Step 5: Proceed further and click on the fixed appointment tab. Schedule the date of registration for the Aadhar card.
Step 6: The applicant can choose the nearest enrollment centre to proceed further with the enrollment process.
Importance of Baal Aadhaar card
- The Blue Aadhaar card is used as identity proof.
- The latest governmental subsidy schemes can be availed.
