Tata Motors to unveil Two Major Variants of Altroz in 2023 (See Details)

Tata Motors had marked its entry into the premium hatchback segment with Altroz in 2020.

Since its market arrival, the model has been generating decent volume for the carmaker in the country.

In order to further boost its sales, the company is planning to bring in two major variants of the hatchback this year – the Tata Altroz CNG and Altroz Racer.

Just so you know, both models were showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Here’re some key details of the aforementioned products.

Tata Altroz CNG

The Tata Altroz CNG comes with the 1.2L petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit.

In CNG mode, it pushes out a peak power of 77PS and 95Nm of torque.

The setup is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Interestingly, the model has a new dual cylinder setup and each cylinder has a capacity of 30-litre.

Its the first car in its category to feature a Single Advanced ECU (engine control unit) and Direct State CNG along with the leakage detection technology.

The CNG hatch comes with features such as faster refuling, auto switch between fuels and modular fuel filter.

Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer will be put up against the Hyundai i20 N Line that’s available with a 118bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine and the 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options.

The Altroz Racer Edition sources its power from a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor that’s tuned for generating power worth 120PS at 5,500rom and a maximum torque of 170Nm between 1,750rom and 4,000rpm.

The same turbo-petrol unit is available on the Nexon subcompact model lineup.

The hatchback’s Racer edition offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated seats, voice activated electric sunroof, leatherette seats with contrast strips, 6 airbags, etc.
